Configuring Line of Business features

By default, Line of Business features are disabled. To get started:

• Enable and set up Organizational Structure. Refer to Setting up organizational structure.
• Associate your resources with certain lines of business. By default, users have access to all lines of business, so this step is required only if you want to limit resources to certain lines of business. Refer to Lines of business and resource data access.
• Modify you security levels to restrict which other resources your users can see. One of the ways you can limit which other resources your users can see is a line of business they have in common. Refer to Limiting resource visibility.
• Configure the "Next invoice number" system setting. This step is required if you generate invoices out of Autotask and would like to use a different invoice number sequence for each division you configured on the Organizational Structure page. Refer to Next invoice number (leave blank to disable automatic numbering).
